Rolling into Waterville Valley for S+C’s wedding, I was struck by how intimate the area felt. Like a little town within a town, all tucked between impressive mountain peaks. The natural beauty of the area was abundant as well; wildflowers on either side of the road and deep greenery everywhere you turned. I knew it was going to be a special wedding from the beginning.
I love when clients have me document the events surrounding their wedding like a welcome dinner and farewell brunch. S + C hosted a low key “elevated cowboy” theme rehearsal dinner in the local restaurant, Coyote Grill, with their inner circle. I arrived early and we got to catch up and shoot a couple of film rolls before they headed over and joined their guests for dinner.
There’s something to be said for celebrating your wedding at a destination where you instinctively relax. As a place where they vacation often and found refuge from the city during the pandemic, Waterville Valley is a sanctuary. A place where this couple and their guests could escape the bustle of everyday life and, like the Eagles sang, take it eeeasy. A vacation with a wedding inside is the perfect setup for all guests, yourself included.
